Concerning: Anna Mikhalchuk, Yuri Samodurov and Ludmila Vasilovskaia
Dear President Putin,
Hereby I want to express my grave concern about Anna Mikhalchuk, Yuri Samodurov and Ludmila Vasilovskaia, who are being prosecuted under criminal law for their peaceful exercise of their right to freedom of expression, which is in violation of international standards and the Russian constitution.
Amnesty International would consider them to be prisoners of conscience if they receive prison sentences and would call for their immediate release.
I call on the authorities to ensure that Anna Mikhalchuk, Yuri Samodurov and Ludmila Vasilovskaia are not imprisoned for peacefully exercising their right to freedom of expression and to respect the right to freedom of expression of everyone in the Russian Federation.
I place my trust in your good will and sense of justice and urge you to use your influence.
Respectfully awaiting your positive response to this matter,
